Are you feeling emotionally drained and overwhelmed with your “to do list”?
.
Chronic emotional overwhelm, worry, and anxiety may lead to physical health problems.
.
Here some of the strategies we recommend to our patients to overcome overwhelm.
.
1. Clean your desk to clear your mind. A few short minutes of cleaning will leave you feeling a little more productive with your tasks.
.
2. Separate your list into lengthy projects (e.g. build a website) versus simple tasks (e.g. call photographer) that you can possibly delegate to others. This alone will dramatically reduce your overwhelm, because the list will appear more manageable.
.
3. Experience completion of the simple tasks. Your motivation will grow with each simple task you complete.
.
4. Set a realistic timer for each task to avoid procrastination.
.
5. Schedule your exercise/downtime at the beginning of each week. Listening to music, reading, walking, exercising, etc. for a short 15 min will help calm your mind and soften your inner critic.
.
6. Take time each day to write down your blessings in a gratitude journal. Then review your entries each morning to fully appreciate the positive aspects of your life.
.
Make it a great day!
