Ingredients.
.
2 1/4 cups gluten free rolled oats ground into a flour (2 cups total).
1/2 cup granulated sweetener of choice.
1 tbsp baking powder.
1 tbsp cinnamon.
2-3 tbsp chopped dried apples (optional).
pinch sea salt.
1 cup unsweetened applesauce.
1 cup dairy free milk.
1 flax egg can (sub for 1 large egg if not vegan).
1 tsp vanilla extract.
6 tbsp nut butter of choice melted.

High protein frosting Ingredients.

3 scoops vanilla protein powder.
1-2 tbsp granulated sweetener of choice (optional).
1-2 tbsp nut butter of choice (optional).
Dairy free milk to form batter.

Cake Instructions:
.
1. Preheat the oven to 350. Grease a loaf pan (or a baking dish) with cooking spray/oil/butter and set aside.
2. Combine/mix the dry ingredients in large mixing bowl.
3. In a small bowl, whisk the milk, vanilla extract and egg/flax egg. Pour into the dry mixture, along with the unsweetened apple sauce. Add the melted nut butter (and maple syrup for paleo option) and mix very well until a batter is formed.
4. Transfer the batter to the loaf pan or baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown on top and a toothpick comes on clean. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before serving or frosting, if desired.

For the frosting:
Add all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well. Using a tablespoon, add dairy free milk until a VERY thick batter is formed.
