Do you or anyone you know feel significant guilt if you/they skip a day at the gym?
.
?The following tips may help you overcome this exercise guilt, which is the guilt one feels when they miss a workout.
.
?Stop following social media “fitness stars” whose unrealistic posts/unattainable images make you feel bad about yourself. They potentially have an unhealthy relationship with exercise/nutrition, so follow inspiring leaders/influencers that live a more balanced lifestyle.
.
?Create a training schedule that is compatible with your timetable. Too tired to train in the evenings? Try exercising in the morning, or vice versa, or even at lunch time.
.
?Switch up your routine every week. Some people become obsessed with comparing their session to previous days, which may yield frustration/burnout/guilt. So switch up your routine to keep those endorphins flowing!
.
?Give your body the gift of rest. Strict exercise regimes may yield various symptoms of obsession or overtraining such as injury, sickness, crankiness, exhaustion, etc. So take a break and focus on other aspects of your wellness (emotional, intellectual, occupational, environmental, etc.).
.
?Make it a great day!
