The anterior talofibular ligament is the most common ankle ligament injured. It is often sprained during an acute ankle inversion.
. 
It is important to understand the stages of injury rehab.  Such that too much or too little stress/exercise on the injured tissue is not recommended after the inflammation is gone.
.
That being said, often too little stress is often imposed on the anterior talofibular ligament while scar tissue accumulates, thus making it weaker and prone to reinjury.
.
Our recommendation is to try cross fibre friction massage (swipe left) for approximately 2 min everyday.  This will break down the scar tissue, which will reorganize in a stronger fashion with a focused prescribed exercise routine.
